The Library Board of Trustees is an advisory board that has no legal responsibilities. An advisory board generally makes recommendations on policy to local government and acts as a liaison between the library, the local government, and the community. The Pasquotank County Library Board of Trustees are appointed by the Pasquotank County Board of Commissioners. Meetings are held quarterly (July, October, January, & April) in the library's community meeting room. The meetings are on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 3:00 pm.

The Friends of the Pasquotank County Library is a group of volunteers who support the library and its services and programs through various activities, including fundraising events, volunteer support, book sales, and in other ways. The Friends meetings are held quarterly on the second Tuesday of August, November, February, and May @ 12:00 P.M.
